In the process of building Charlie a keep-sake box from vertical grain Douglas Fir. It’s my first real attempt at a full box using dovetail joints. While I like the look of the Fir, and wanted it to be a locally sourced indigenous species - it might be a little soft for this application. I’ve designed it so it won’t need a single nail or screw other than for the hinges and clasp.

A flowery scene is going around the sides of the box while the annealed pink gives a more feminime romantic style.
Totally handmade by wood, decoupaged with quality scrapbook rice paper teapot design and varnish to seal it and make it last for ever. The vintage look was given by a burning technique mostly on the corners of the box.
